Grantchester Parish Council is made up of nine members elected by villagers every 4 years.
Our Parish Councillors are here to be the link between the community, Grantchester Parish Council, and other statutory bodies including our District and County councils.
The role of a Parish Councillor is:
- To represent the views of the community
- To ensure services are provided in the parish
- To help out individual residents on specific issues.
- To help develop the budget and set the Council annual Precept charge.
- To make and scrutinise decisions.
- To speak up for and on behalf of residents and groups
- To encourage residents to engage and participate
- To take part in plan making and planning decisions
- To communicate individual resident’s concerns to the council and other interested parties.
