Mysteries

The village and many of its inhabitants form the backdrop to the ITV drama “Grantchester”  first broadcast at 9pm on Monday, 6th October. The series is based on books by James Runcie (son of the former Archbishop of Canterbury) in which the vicar of Grantchester church serves as an amateur sleuth, solving a series of mysteries from the 1950’s until 1978. I’m a big fan of the tv series, especially as it is based on and filmed in a real place. And a lovely one – in a lovely part of England. The cast is fine and I love Dickens. Please don’t let anything happen to the dog.

While I enjoy the TV series, I really enjoyed the views of the town on the show. Husband and I spent a pleasant pair of hours walking about in the town, on the Meadows, and especially the church grounds & sanctuary. Such a beautiful and historic spot. Planning to return for tea at the Orchard, hopefully in summer.
